Is this really free? What is the catch?+
No catch. SawaFX is completely free to use. When you click through to a provider and send money, we may earn a small affiliate commission from that provider. This never changes how we rank results. The provider who delivers the most money to your recipient is always ranked first.
Does SawaFX handle my money?+
Never. We are a comparison tool only. When you tap Send, you go directly to the provider's website or app. Your money flows straight from you to them to your recipient. We never touch it.
How do I know the rates are up to date?+
We pull rates directly from each provider's pricing system and refresh them every 15 minutes around the clock. The coloured indicator on the rates page tells you whether data is live, slightly delayed, or stale. Each provider card shows when it was last checked.
Which countries do you support?+
You can send from Canada (CAD), US (USD), UK (GBP), and Europe (EUR) to 13 African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon/CEMAC, Senegal/West Africa, Ethiopia, Somalia, Rwanda, Djibouti, and Zambia. We add more corridors based on demand.
How do you decide which provider is best?+
Simple maths. We calculate the total amount your recipient actually receives after every fee and exchange rate markup is applied. Whoever delivers the most money is ranked first. No exceptions, no paid placements.
Can I get notified when rates hit a target?+
Yes. On any corridor page, enter your email and the rate you are waiting for. We will email you as soon as any provider hits your target so you do not have to keep checking manually.
Are the providers on SawaFX regulated?+
Yes. Every provider listed on SawaFX holds a financial services licence in the countries it operates. Wise is publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange. Remitly is listed on NASDAQ. LemFi, Africhange, and WorldRemit hold FINTRAC MSB licences in Canada and FCA authorisation in the UK.
